Oktoberfest arrives at The Hop Vault! (Stock Drop - 20/9/22)
Well, some of it at least...
We have three of the official Munich Oktoberfest beers available in bottle from today - Augustiner, Hacker-Pshorr and Paulaner. The other three are due, but there's been what was described to us as a "hold up". We have no idea what that means or how long they will take to be... put down(?!?), so watch this space they should be arriving soon! As well as the German Festbiers there's a few UK breweries attempting to get in on the action with festbiers or other German style lager releases from Deya, Lost & Grounded, Cloudwater and Sureshot. There's sure to be more in the coming weeks but that should be enough to get you in the mood.
On top of all this we'll have a couple of the Official Oktoberfest beers on draught from Thursday and we're switching out our house lager for a UK festbier. So pop down this weekend, there'll be bunting, big glasses probably some Oom-pah music (for as long as we can stand it) and maybe even some pretzels...
In this week's collaboration watch: The big news is that Three HIlls have teamed up with Florida based Hidden Springs to brew up one of their world famous BPAVK stouts. This one, BPAVK: Jedi Pie Trick is an 11% imperial stout based the American dessert Mud Pie. Expect Chocolate, lots of chocolate. Stout season is definitely upon us as Brew York team up with Overtone to bring us an 8% Imperial Rye Stout. In stark contrast to those beers we round out collab watch with two low ABV beers. New Bristol have brewed up a 3% pale ale with Vibrant Forest and Vault City have teamed up with NoLo specialists Mash Gang to produce a tropical sour weighing in at only 2.5%.
In a recent social media post we suggested that Steady Rolling Man might lose it's title as "Everybody's favourite pale ale" to another beer, which then sold out in about 12 hours. That beer was Milson by Sureshot. They've rebrewed it and it's back on our shelf this week. Best get some fast.
Other bits to get excited about: the return of Polly's Rosa, a rare impy from Beak, the first Unity drop in quite a while and an interesting looking sharing bottle from Burnt Mill.
Plenty more on the full list below, all live at 7pm! We're off to listen to THIS Spotify playlist of all the songs referenced in Pomona Island beer names...
